Christy L. Nelson, 55, Huntington Beach, Calif.

Christy Lynn Nelson passed away Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, Calif.

Christy was born in Santa Barbara, Calif., on Nov. 18, 1945. As a child, she lived with her parents, Victor and Roselyn Turner and her brother, John, and sister, Shirli. She grew up and went to high school in Lewiston. She worked for Westvaco for 30 years.

She is survived by her best friend and husband, Dan, of 25 years; her two daughters, Shelley Lynn Filbey, 36, and Trisha Lee Winegarner, 31, both of Huntington Beach, Calif.; four grandchildren, Lauren, Kaley, Heather and Casey; one great-granddaughter, Dylana; and three loving dogs, Sammy, Missy and Katie.

She will be remembered for her eternal smile, her extreme love for dogs, bringing out the best in people, her classic style and for always being so positive. She had a special ability to make every single person feel important, cared for and loved.

Christy, thank you for showing us so much love, laughter and generosity of the heart. WE LOVE YOU EVERYTHING!!

Craig and I started out in Lewiston in 1964. Since that time he was in the Navy 1966-70. We were stationed in San Diego for most of the time. After being discharged, we moved to Phoenix where he went to air conditioning refrigeration school and then went to work for an air-conditioning firm in Phoenix. I have been employed with an envelope manufacturer as a customer service rep since 1971. We are both really sorry we can't make this reunion.
