Mary Anne (Todd) Vath

Rest In Peace...
1946 - 2015

About Mary Anne Todd: Her married name was Mary Anne Todd Vath. She move to Las Vegas at the end of ninth grade where she graduated and later moved to Phoenix where she resided for 34 years. She had a rare liver disease called NASH and moved to be with her daughter in November to Guyton, GA., near Savannah. She had a liver transplant last week and passed Sunday night, Feb. 15, 2015. She lost her husband, Jeff Vath a couple of years ago and is survived by a son and her daughter. We were close friends from grade 1 and I will truly miss her.

I don't think there will be an obituary. There was a big send off party with all her retired teacher acquaintance's and LDS friends and her daughter said that Mary Anne felt that was enough. Mary Anne requested that there be no service. Mary Anne sent out a Christmas letter that recapped some highlights of her life. She served as AASRA President this last year (Arizona School Retirees Association, Affiliated with AARP). She was involved in the political world and lobbied at legislature for the last 10 years. She personally knew John McCain and former Arizona Governor Jan Brewer and her and husband Jeff hosted many political functions at their Phoenix home over the years. She was an excellent teacher, a true friend and will be forever missed.

Thanks to Susan Brock for this information.
