Keith Jones, 63, Spokane Valley

Our precious husband, son and father passed away Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, after a brave battle with prostate and bone cancer.

He is survived by his wife Janet of Spokane Valley; mother and stepfather, Zada and Patrick Woodruff; brothers, David and Kenneth; half-brother, Patrick Woodruff of Lewiston; son Brian of Kennewick; four adopted children, Michelle of Lewiston, Angel and Trinidad of Spokane, and Tony of Priest River; two stepdaughters, Tammy Schribner of Usk, Wash., and Tara Miller of Priest River; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Keith was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Jones; and wife Diane Richardson Jones.

He was born in Kendrick June 21, 1945, and moved to Lewiston at age 13, where he graduated from Lewiston High School in 1964. He was active in athletics, winning state medals in track, and lettering in football and track.

He worked for a short time at Potlatch Corp. in Lewiston as an equipment operator before moving to Priest Lake, where he worked for 23 years logging. He then moved to Clark Fork, logging for eight years, and Pumnea Construction in Priest River.

He moved to Spokane Valley after marrying Janet Cowen on Dec. 21, 2002. He retired in July 2007 after working four years at Newport Equipment.

A covered-dish dinner will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Feed Mill in Priest River for friends and family to celebrate his life.

Spokane Cremation is in charge of his remains.

Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society, Hospice House of Spokane or Shriners Hospital for Children.
