GRANITE FALLS, N.C. - Vernon G. Dinnell, 66, of Granite Falls, N.C., and formerly of Lewiston, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at his residence.

2009 Reunion News: Vern, from my first wife, lives in Holly Springs, Miss, and works for Fedex in the Menphis TN main office. I have two beautiful granddaughters, Callie Jean 15, Elita 10. Jason, from my second wife, is career navy and is stationed at Whidby Island in Oak Harbor, WA. Heather, my daughter, passed away on June 17, 2007 from MS. She battled it for 8 years.

After working hard all my life, I finally retired in March of this year. Just taking it easy now, fishing, working on old furniture and on my computer.

I worked so many years at M and M Alum on shift work rotation, didn't have much time to develop my hobbies. But now I worked days and enjoy camping in the summer, motorcycle touring and fishing. After 18 years of absence from singing and theatre I am now going full bore. I sing in Cascade Singers-a 40 voice choir. We do many different things including 'Carmina Burana, the Magnificant' by Bach. This weekend (May 13th), we are finishing up doing the Gondolier's by Gilbert and Sullivan, in which I play the part of Plaza Roro. Was in Brigadoon in March of this year. Have already been cast as Teva in 'Fiddler on the Roof' for next fall. The Cascade Singers are planning a tour in Europe in the summer of '86. Much looking forward to it.

I got married in August 1965 and worked at Standard in Lewiston. I was divorced in August 1968 and moved to Oregon. Have lived here since. I got married in 1970 to Judy Ann. We have a son, Jason.
