We've said goodbye to our mountain man -
Leslie Thomas Arnold, age 72, was born to Evelyn and Tom Arnold on Dec. 4, 1945.
He passed away June 9, 2018, due to a fall at our home May 30, 2018.
Les had a full and adventurous life. He loved all things outdoors - hunting, fishing, boating and camping.
Les owned the Waha Store and Grill from 1985 to 2002, which he considered his most fun adventure and best accomplishment in life.
On Dec. 13, 1993, he met his match and married his lasting love and partner in life, L.J. (Gipson) Arnold. We had 25 years of fun, happiness and some rough patches but love always won out.
Rest in peace, my love. I will miss you every day.
Les is survived by his sister, Linda (Orin) Triplett, and children; brother Tom (Margo) Arnold and children; son Tyler Chance; daughter Sheri Arnold and her partner, Collin Jones; granddaughters Jessica (Calen) Martin and family, and Samantha Shamion; and grandson Jonathan (Samantha) Pallett.
Survivors also include much loved extended family Kerrie (Chad) Barney and family, and Holly (Joe) Sorelle and family.
To all my wonderful family and special friends, your love, kindness and unfailing support has been a true blessing during this heartbreaking time. And also, a heart-felt thank you to all my ICU angels with their invisible wings at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center; you are loved and appreciated.

In the last 50 years since high school, I have worked for and worked as the following:
After graduation, I worked in a plywood mill in Missoula MT for 10 years. Then construction until 1979, moved back to Lewiston and built pole buildings until 1985. I then purchased the Waha Store and Grill. Being a bartender and cook is about 10 different jobs in one (shrink, lawyer, babysitter, shoulder-to-cry-on, etc).
I did retire in 2020 and lived in Waha Glen until June 2013. Linda and I moved to town. I gave up pool and being a bar fly. Now honey do's, then gardening and yard work. Still hunting and fishing as much as I can.

For as long as I can remember, I've enjoyed hunting and fishing and getting older hasn't changed me. From 1965 t 1979 I hunted the mountains around my home in Missoula MT. After moving back to Lewiston in 1980, I bought my 'get-away' acreage in Waha where Kathi and I hope to live in the country one day soon.
