MICHAEL DALE SPENO Michael D. Speno peacefully passed away July 11, 2022, at home in Des Moines, Wa. Michael was born June 20th, 1946 to Frank & Alfonsina Speno in Lewiston, Idaho. Mike grew up and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1964 where he enjoyed playing sports and summer swimming in the Snake River. After graduation, Mike moved to Seattle where he took his first job at Sears & Roebuck. This is where he met Karen Gove whom he married and had two sons Christopher and Timothy. He later began working at Bethlehem Steel where he enjoyed many years of service. Mike aka "Pops" to his boys and "Speno" to classmates also enjoyed road trips with his friends and family. In 1980 he took a trip to Italy to meet all his relatives. He was an avid cribbage player and loved spending time with his family. Mike was loved by all and had a great sense of humor that could make anybody laugh. Mike is preceding death by his mother and father, brothers Louie and Larry. Also preceding in death by his only aunt here in America, Teresa Speno. Mike is survived by his two sons, Christopher and Timothy, both of Seattle, Wa. Also survived by his daughter-in-law, Liz Speno, Granddaughter Savannah, and grandson Timmy. Mike is also survived by his sister, Mary Lou Cox (Speno), and brother Gary Speno, and many nieces and nephew here and in Italy. Mike, your family and friends are going to miss you. It doesn't seem possible you left us so soon, but who knows what's going on up there. You were welled loved and enriched many lives that came around you. Your family deeply loves you as you do them. God, take care of our father, brother, grandfather, uncle and most important our friend. 30 Year Reunion 1994 Current residence: Des Moines WAOccupation: Forklift Operator Family: Christopher 25; Timothy 23. Number of grandchildren: 0 Places lived in the last 10 years: All in and around Seattle. Hobbies and other interests: Horseracing, cooking, chasing around. Plans or goals for the next 10 years: Same as above. Major highlights of the last 10 years: Worked for Bethlehem Steel, they sold out and everyone lost their jobs. Went to work for Lindal Cedar Homes, Sept 1991…love it! Also have concession trailer and work fairs selling meatball/sausage sandwiches. 20 Year Reunion 1984 Current residence: Seattle WAOccupation: Over-head crane operator Family: Christopher Michael 16; Timothy Allen 13. I have been working for Bethlem Steel for 15 years. Never remarried. Have 2 boys 16 and 13. About 4 years ago too a trip to Italy with my Dad and my sister, was there for 3 weeks. Met all of my Mom's relations. It was quite an experience. Got involved with racing horses here in Seattle and some breeding. Not much more to tell-am happy and doing good. 10 Year Reunion 1974 Current residence: Seattle WAOccupation: Steelworker Spouse's Occupation: Typist Family: Christopher Michael 6; Timothy Allan 3. Traveled, worked at Sears and Roebuck for 4 years and am presently employed at Bethlehem Steel where I run a craneman and a shipment checker the last 5 years. |
