August 1984-June 1985: Foreign Service Institute SA-3 Turkish Language Training, Dept of State, Washington DC. July 1985-June 1988 American Counsulate NY.
In the past decade, I have managed to combine a long time interest in the Middle East and in Archaeology with a career as a Foreign Service Officer. I finish in 3 years in Cairo in Aug 1984 where I have served as a First Secretary in the Economic Section with responsibilities for petroleum and civil aviation reporting. One of the success stories is Boeing's sale of 3 B767s to Egypt Air, the first aircraft to be delivered in July 1984. I was also in Cairo during the Sadat Assassination (didn't go to the parade) and witnessed the smooth change of government and the changes in styles that have accompanied it. My other foreign service assignments have included Tehran and in Washington. Stints as a Special Assistant to the Secretary of State Muskie and Presidential Envoy (and graduate of the University of Idaho) Philip Habib. I am now headed for a year of Turkish to be followed by assignment as Principal Officer (Consul) in Adana, Turkey. If any of you are in the corner of the Med between 1985-88, please give me a call (if the phone works). I'm sorry that I am not able to join the reunion festivities, but I plan to be In Lewiston sometime during August. Best Regards.

10 Year Reunion 1974

Current residence: Lewiston ID
Occupation: Teacher
I attended the University of Denver 1964-69, finally finishing with a BA and MA in history. For the lack of anything better to do (and no other job possibilities in sight), I became a Recreation Aide with the Red Cross in Viet-Nam (1969-70). Since that time, I have taught Jr and Sr high school (1972-74 at LHS). Right now, I am in the process of applying for jobs overseas and hopefully by July 20, will be on my way to some exotic spot.
