Darrell and Sandy 20142014 Reunion News:

In the last 50 years since high school, I have worked for and worked as the following:

PFI--Every department in the wood side, ended up n the veneer plant. Got smart, went to school, got a degree in Instrumentation and Industrial Electronics. Worked at INEL (8 years) working for Phillips Petroleum Co, AeroJet General and Idaho Nuclear Corp as Process Instrumentation Tech. Worked on reactor process equipment, reactor rod drives, evacuation systems, intercom systems and special projects.

After getting my degree in Instrumentation and Industrial Electronics my wife and I and our 1st child Renee' moved to Idaho Falls where I worked at Idaho National Engineering Lab site west of Idaho Falls. I worked there for 8 years.

After working in the Nuclear Industry for 8 years, my wife "Rene" and daughters Renee', Elizabeth, Ellen and April moved to Boise.

I was employed by Idaho Industrial Instruments Inc as a Technical Supervisor manufacturing Nuclear-Snow/moisture measuring gauges and other electronic equipment. Company sold out to American Potato in Blackfoot.

I then went to work for Idaho Power Co. Started as a design draftsman for about 6-months. Then went into relaying and was a relay foreman for 20 years.

Worked for IPC in line operations for 7 years on regulators, capacitor banks, reclosures, sectionalizers and relays.

I retired on Nov 30, 2002 (did some traveling and 4-wheeling), then contracted back to work for Idaho Power working in the line operations again. Before thje end of this 4 years, I wrote the training program for line ops. Then retired again from IPC in July 2007. I've had a valued and great career. Teaching classes and even taught relaying at WSU. And working with great people.

I did finally retire in 2007. I lost my sweet wife "Rene" after 48 years of wonderful marriage in July of 2013. I now keep busy woodworking, 4-wheeling, enjoying 17 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter plus 4 wonderful grandchildren that came with a beautiful new wife "Sandy" I married in May of 2014. I also enjoy hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, remodeling, electrical work, mechanics and of course traveling.

2004 Reunion News:

Past highlights: Grandchildren, retirement, camping, salmon fishing, ATVing (new hobby), woodworking. Oldest grandchild is 12 and youngest will be 1 in July. If we had known grandkids were so much fun, we hay have started with them. Retired in 2002 after 27 years with Idaho Power and now have 6 Saturdays and 1 Sunday. What a ball we are having ATVing-everyone should try it. Woodworking is a passion I've had all my life and it relaxes me.

Future Plans: Grandchildren, camping, salmon fishing (hopefully), ATVing (more than we do now), woodworking and traveling some of the U.S.

After graduation, I worked at PFI for 14 months, then married Larene Van Over of Boise. We moved to Yakima where I attended a Technical Trade School for 24 months. Rene' was born 5 months before we left Yakima. After graduation in the field of Instrumentation and Industrial Electronics, we moved to Idaho Falls ID where I worked at the National Reactor Testing Station for 8 years as a Senior Electronic Tech and Certified Process Instrument man for three different companies. Started with Phillips Petroleum Co. the twins were born in Idaho Falls. April was also born in Idaho Falls, a few months before we moved to Boise to take a job with Idaho Industrial Instruments as Tech Supervisor. We learned the answer to 3 questions: "Where did I come from? Why am I here? And Where am I going after I leave this life?" These answers have changed our lives. After 8 months with Tripple I (we manufactured Nuclear Precipitation Measuring equipment, snow gauges, rain cans, etc.) the company moved back to Blackfoot ID and I elected to stay here. Shortly after that I went to work for Idaho Power Co as a Draftsman, then transferred into the Relay Dept. I have been a Relay Foreman for several years and have worked for Power Co for 8 years and am still there. We are in the process of remodeling our home now.
