WILLIAM BURCHAM JR., 48, FORMERLY OF LEWISTON

OGDEN, Utah William A. Burcham Jr., a former Lewiston resident, died from complications of diabetes Saturday at his home at Ogden, Utah. He was 48.

He was born Aug. 24, 1945, at Pueblo, Colo., to William A. and Freda Kennedy Burcham. At the age of 6 weeks, he moved with his parents to Lewiston, where he attended schools.

He attended Lewis-Clark State College at Lewiston for a year, then entered the U.S. Air Force for four years. He was stationed on Midway Island and Hawaii.

After his discharge, he attended Weber State College at Ogden for a year, then worked at Hills Air Force Base at Ogden for 24 years.

He married Carol Smith and she survives him at the family home. Other survivors include three daughters, Kimberly, Chris and Stephanie, and six sons, Ryan, Benjamin, Jason, Joshua, Jeremy and Zachary, all at the family home; his mother, Freda Stelljes of Lewiston; two brothers, Mark Burcham of Lewiston and Darold Burcham of Anacortes, Wash.; two stepbrothers, Tom Stelljes of Las Vegas and Paul Stelljes of Houston, Texas; three stepsisters, Vickie Stelljes of Seattle, Ruth Stelljes of Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, and Barbara Deschenes of Prince George, British Columbia, Canada.

At his request, cremation was followed by a memorial service at Ogden. Inurnment will take place and a private family gathering will be held Wednesday morning at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens at Lewiston.
