2014 Reunion News:

In the last 50 years since high school, I have worked for and worked as the following:

I was a staff nurse for many years, at several hospitals, then I taught nursing for Clark College, in Vancouver, WA, for 30 years. Much of my nursing career involved pediatric and obstetric nursing. Clark's nursing program celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2012!

I did retire in 2011 and now keep busy doing volunteer activities for my granddaughter's elementary school and at church, where I'm involved with music and the church library. I swim regularly and endeavor to raise vegetables and a few fruits (hampered by weeds and shade). It's nice to have time to read non-nursing literature! I helped care for my mother (she lived in California) as her health declined. She passed away last summer. I've busied myself these past months working through my parents' possessions. I have found special photos, letters, journals, etc. I've not been able to travel widely since retirement, but I have visited several National Parks.

March 2010 Update:

We have a granddaughter, Audrey, who is 5 years old! (my son's daughter) She is lots of fun and very cute! We get to see her occasionally. This Saturday we will color some Easter eggs together.

And I am working a bit more part-time now. Retirement will be great, but it's still 15 months away for me. So it doesn't seem imminent yet. However, I don't work in the summer. I still work 30-35 hours a week during the school year.

Oh, Juanita Weissenfels, Patty Mosqueda, Connie Schwegel, and I had our own reunion last September at Westport, too. So we are in touch via email. They went up to the San Juan Islands a few weeks ago, but I couldn't be there because of my job and trip to California to take care of my mother.

We do hope to do some camping this summer--maybe even in northern Idaho. That seems a long time away right now.

2004 Reunion News:

Senior Prom, 1964Past highlights: My son married Hitomi Uekawa in Japan; my daughter married Jes'us Cantero in Cuba. In December 2002 Mitchel "found" me on my professional website! We renewed our special friendship of 40 years ago at LHS and married in May 2004. I feel very blessed that he was prompted to find me!

Future Plans: I hope to change my work status to part-time in a few years. We would like to enjoy the outdoors and spend lots of time together.

We still have the same orange cat, Mickey, a new Springer Spaniel, Spot, a hamster (what is the life expectancy of a hamster?), numerous gold fish. News Flash!! 4-24-84: The hamster passed away of natural causes. A memorial dinner was held at Marco Polo's restaurant in Portland followed by a dessert at Rose's Viennese Bakery.

Although we've lived in Vancouver for 10 years now, family travels have included two journeys to visit much of the East Coast, as well as National parks in the West. For the past three years I've been grinding my way through graduate school and teaching in the Nursing Dept at Clark College. I will receive my Master of Nursing degree this June at Oregon Heath Sciences University. I've also completed the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner course there. My husband and I have been quite involved with Brendan's Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop. He's a first class scout now. Kerri plays first violin with the Metropolitan Youth Symphony in Portland and is counting the days until she can drive! She's really looking forward to the high school next fall; has interests in guys, skiing and tennis.

10 Year Reunion 1974

Current residence: Vancouver WA
Occupation: Registered Nurse
Spouse's Occupation: Dental Equipment Sales
Family: Kerri Elaine 5; Brendan Howard 2.
Attended BYU 1964-68 and graduated with a BS in Nursing. Have since worked in Coronary Care and Pediatrics, mostly part time since the children have been born. Took up Pipe Organ in college and would love to devote more time when the children are older. I dabble in teaching Piano and Organ students. Also Kerri and Brendan's lively antics seem to fill my entire day. I do lots of sewing.
